The Project consists of constructing the following Base Bid improvements: 1,900 lineal feet (LF) of 8" PVC water main, 1,700 LF of 10" PVC water main, and 1,000 LF of 12" PVC water main via conventional open-trench methods and 700 LF of 12" fusible PVC water main via horizontal directional drilling; valves, fittings, hydrants, water services, pavement restoration, and associated appurtenances. Additive Alternate No. 1 includes construction of the following improvements: 1,900 LF of 10" PVC water main and 4,700 LF of 6" force main via conventional and directional drilled methods with associated fittings, valves, restoration and associated appurtenances. REPORT NO. 1755226 Additive Alternate No. 1 work includes completion of a topographic route survey to assist the Engineer's evaluation of the route, coordinate final design/construction requirements, and provide data for as-built condition (vertical/horizontal locations). The Drawings indicate where the Base Bid and Additive Alternate No. 1 work begin/end. If the Additive Alternate is not selected, the plugs and/or caps shall be provided at those locations where the Drawings indicate the Additive Alternate No. 1 work begins/ends The additive alternate work will include services such as topographic surveying to support the City efforts to design-build the utility extensions shown in the Bid Documents. Bids will be received for a single prime Contract. Bids shall be on a unit-price basis as indicated in the Bid Form. Partial sets of Bidding Documents will not be available from the Issuing Office. Neither Owner nor Engineer will be responsible for full or partial sets of Bidding Documents, including Addenda, if any, obtained from sources other than the Issuing Office. Bid security shall be furnished in accordance with the Instructions to Bidders. To be considered qualified, Bidder shall be licensed to engage in the business of contracting in the State of Florida by the Construction Industry Licensing Board and shall have successfully completed, as prime contractor, a minimum of 3 projects of a similar nature within the past 5 years, each having a minimum contract value of $500,000 with at least one project having a contract value in excess of $1,000,000.
