Site work and paving for a mixed-use development in Deltaville, Virginia. Design plans call for site work for a road / highway; for paving for a road / highway; sidewalk / parking lot; and sidewalk / parking lot.
The following proposed project is intended to improve pedestrian and bicycle safety by designing a multi-use or shared path on the Route 33 - General Puller Highway corridor in Middlesex County, near and in Deltaville. This Phase would commence at the current Middlesex Rescue Squad to about Greens Cove Road. Funding is derived from Federally funded Transportation Alternative Funding (TAP). The original award was for $1,000,000 with the county seeking another $1,500,000, which would be added to the original award. $2,500,000 represents the maximum amount that can be awarded under the Transportation Alternative Program. Tap funding requires a 20% match from the locality and the locality is responsible for amounts that exceed the allocated amount This project is in Middlesex County - capital budget FY 2025-2029. As of July 8, 2024 project is scheduled to begin in Fall 2024 and be completed in Summer 2025. *Project information has been obtained through a public capital improvement plan (CIP). A CIP is a financial schedule for short- and long-range projects which is updated regularly. Information listed in the CIP often evolves based on funding availability and the project details, including timeline and value, are subject to change.
