Site work and new construction of a municipal facility in Naughton, Ontario. Conceptual plans call for the construction of a 12,000-square-foot, two-story above grade municipal facility; and for site work for a municipal facility.
The vision is to have a multiuse commercial complex that will belong to GMS on behalf of the Atikameksheng Anishnawbek offering 3 floors of office and commercial space for lease. It is envisioned the ground floor will offer retail and commercial space to several businesses. It is envisioned that the second floor will be largely occupied by GMS, with 8 to 10 offices, a boardroom, kitchen, as well as an area dedicated to incubating and accelerating band member businesses with office space, shared use of printing equipment and computers. The third floor is likely to be occupied by Atikameksheng Anishnawbek administration, Political office, Gimaa and Council Chambers. Other offices that might be considered and offer synergies include Lands, Resources, Community Development and Skills Training depts – all to be determined in the Consultant-led consultation process with Atikameksheng Anishnawbek and GMS. TIMELINE: A Feasibility Study is underway by the Consultant and is expected to be complete by October 30, 2024. The building is to be located in the Chii-Zhiinwaak (CZ) Business Park currently under development. Location: located off Reserve Rd, just over the Junction Creek Bridge. Updates may be available late 2024.
