The above designated work and improvements referred to as Million Gallon Ground Storage Tank Rehabilitation on which Bids are requested will include the following construction: A complete sandblast and repainting of the Million Gallon Ground Storage Tank, and a cleaning and application of mold and mildew inhibitor to the exterior of the 300,000 Gallon Elevated Tank. All questions concerning the Bidding Documents should be emailed to Mr. Neil Smith of Bruner, Cooper and Zuck, Inc. at nas@bczengineering.com Each Bid shall be accompanied by a certified or cashier s check payable to the order of the Owner, or a satisfactory bid bond executed by the Bidder and a surety company, in an amount not less than five percent of Bidder s maximum Bid price as a guarantee that the Bidder will within fifteen (15) days after the date of the award of a contract execute an Agreement and file bonds and insurance as required by the Bidding Documents if his Bid is accepted. If the Successful Bidder fails to execute and file an Agreement, bonds and insurance as required by the Bidding Documents, the amount of the security submitted with his Bid shall be forfeited. No Bid shall be withdrawn after the opening of the Bids without the consent of the Owner, for a period of sixty (60) days after the scheduled time of closing Bids. The Contractor to whom an award shall be made pursuant to this procurement shall be subject to all applicable Federal and State laws and regulations, including but not limited to the Illinois acts commonly known as the Illinois Prevailing Wage Act (IL Rev. Stat. Ch. 48, Secs. 2201-2207). The submissions of the proposal or bid by the Offeror in response to this Advertisement for Bids constitutes an acknowledgment of and an agreement by the Offeror that it understands and will comply with the Illinois Prevailing Wage Act and the Illinois Preference Act. A payment and performance bond are required in connection with this project. The payment bond shall specifically provide that the Principal must pay all sums of money due or to become due for any labor in accordance with the Illinois Prevailing Wage Act, (IL Rev. Stat. Ch. 48, Sec. 39(s)-1-12). The Owner reserves the right to reject any Bid for failure to comply with all requirements of this notice or any of the Bidding Documents; however, it may waive any minor defects or informalities at its discretion. The Owner further reserves the right to reject any and all Bids or to award a contract which in its judgment is in the best interest of the Owner.
