For Schmitt, Whetstone, and Bexley Water Mains The work for which bids are to be received consists of: Replacement of a total of approximately 4,350 linear feet along E Schmitt Lane, Whetstone Road, Bexley Court and Lakeland Drive (approximately 1,310 linear feet of 4-inch water mains with 4-inch and 8-inch C-900 PVC mains along Bexley Court, approximately 1,180 linear feet of 2-inch with 4-inch and 8-inch C-900 PVC mains along E Schmitt Lane, approximately 1,260 linear feet of 2-inch water mains with 8-inch C-900 PVC mains along Lakeland Drive, approximately 600 linear feet of 4-inch water mains with 8-inch C-900 PVC mains along Whetstone Road). The project also includes the installation of all associated fittings, valves, connections to existing water mains, abandoning existing water mains, service connection extensions and surface restoration. Work shall also include all supervision, equipment, traffic control, granular backfill, pavement restoration (milling included), flushing, disinfecting, testing, and all appurtenances necessary to complete the work shown in the Drawings and the Specifications. All work must be ready for satisfactory and continuous operation, in accordance with the Drawings and Specifications. The Contractor shall be responsible for all work shown on the plans and described in the specifications pertaining to the Itemized Base Bid, regardless of the installation method chosen. Any contract or contracts awarded under this Advertisement for Bids is expected to be fund ed by a State Revolving Fund (SRF) Loan from the U. S. Environmental Protection Agency, administered by the Indiana Finance Authority (IFA). The Contractor to whom the work is awarded shall comply with all requirements of said agencies. Where conflict exists between this specification and the federal agency specifications, the more stringent shall apply. Neither the Unit ed States nor any of its departments, agencies, or employees is or will b e a party to this Advertisement for Bids or any resulting contract. This procedure will be subject to all requirements of said agencies. The SRF program has participation goals for minority (MBE), and women-owned (WBE) business enterprises. As this project is funded by the SRF, the Contractor is expected to comply with all applicable MBE/WBE participation requirements. Th e Contractor is required to show a positive effort for MBE/WBE solicitation. Contractors and subcontractors are required to pay in accordance with Public Notices Davis-Bacon requirements. Wage rates on the project shall not be less than the federal wage scale publish-ed by the U.S. Department of Labor available on the day of bid.
