Renovation of a municipal facility in Wellesley, Massachusetts. Completed plans call for the renovation of a municipal facility.
Work under this contract shall consist of but is not limited to the removal of existing dry system, and installation of a new dry sprinkler system, modifications at stairwells, and modifications to the Fire Alarm and Detection and Emergency Lighting systems at the Baler Building. Project Number: CB181692.1 Sprinkler Contractor shall provide complete replacement of the existing backflow preventer and pre-action system with dry sprinkler system in areas designated and as required by the Local Authority and the Owner's Insurance Agency, for fully sprinklered building, as indicated on drawings. The system shall be hydraulically calculated, based on the design criteria noted, with the required density and area. The Sprinkler Contractor shall coordinate with all trades and all existing conditions in order to design and install complete and operational, automatic fire sprinkler systems as indicated on drawings. The existing fire service main shall be reused and flushed prior to the installation of the new backflow preventer. All design, installation, testing and flushing work shall be in accordance with the Massachusetts State Building Code 9th edition, NFPA-13, and NFPA-25.
