This project will provide funding for the widening of Davis Road. Davis Road is a County-maintained collector that is located in the southwestern portion of the County and connects Hwy 101 to Hwy 17. The project is proposed to include reclaiming/repaving and widening over 12,845 square feet (2.4 miles) of roadway, installing any needed safety improvements (i.e., rumble strips, raised/reflective pavement markers, signage, guardrails, pavement markings, etc.), performing any necessary improvements related to storm water drainage, and removing vegetation from the County's rightof-way. Davis Road currently intersects Hwy 417 at an acute angle. The intersection will be evaluated as part of this project and is currently being proposed to be realigned at or near a 90-degree angle. General obligation bond proceeds are recommended for funding this project. This project directly supports Council's strategic vision by being a core component of the County's infrastructure plan. The project also improves services provided to citizens by upgrading a roadway in a highly traveled corridor of the County. As of December 19, 2023, this project is included in the Spartanburg County 2024-2028 Capital Improvement Program (CIP). This is a new project with funding planned in FY 2023/24. A design team has not been identified at this time. *Project information has been obtained through a public capital improvement plan (CIP).
