Site work for a transportation facility in North Kingstown, Rhode Island. Completed plans call for site work for a transportation facility.

**As of Sept. 7, 2021, tentative notice of award was issued to RailWorks in the amount of $1,694,652.24, no start date has been set. The work is located at south of Roger Williams Way (RI Rte. 403), east of Post Road (US Rte. 1), and north of the Quonset Main Line railroad in the Quonset Business Park, North Kingstown, RI. Description of Work: Quonset Development Corporation (QDC) plans to construct a two (2) Track Rail Yard adjacent to the Quonset Main Line, between Roger Williams Way (RI Route 403) and the Davisville Main Rail Track and Post Road (US1). The vertical and horizontal alignments will follow the Contract Documents and the track structure will be built on prepared grade. Each track, in the two (2) track yard, will be approximately 1,836 track feet in length with two (2) new No.10 Turnouts and be connected to the Quonset Main with an East and West Lead approximately 285 track feet in length each and two (2) new No.10 Turnouts. The rail yard shall be constructed of a minimum rail size of 11SRE No.1 relay utilizing new AREMA Grade 5 Cross Ties. Additional work on the Quonset Main Track includes new tie installation and track surfacing. Quonset Development Corporation (QDC) plans to construct a new rail connection between the Davisville Main track and the proposed Mill Creek Railyard. The vertical and horizontal alignments will follow the Contract Documents and the track structure will be constructed on | prepared grade, which is also part of the work. The Davisville Connector Track will be approximately 1,325 track feet in length connected with a No. 10 Turnout to be installed on the Davisville Main Track and a No. 10 Turnout to be installed on the proposed Mill | Creek Railyard North Track. The Davisville Connector track shall be constructed of a minimum rail size of 11SRE No. 1 Relay utilizing new AREMA Grade 5 Cross Ties. Two (2) No. 10 Turnouts shall be a minimum 115RE. Included in the construction shall be the rehabilitation of an existing double track private grade crossing and the construction of a new private crossing on the new Davisville Connector track. The construction also includes grading and drainage work associated with the reconfiguration of an existing Rhode Island Department of Transportation (RIDOT) stormwater detention basin. The work under this Contract shall also include all incidentals All Rhode Island State permits required for this project are the sole responsibility of the Contractor/Subcontractor(s), including all permit fees. The Contractor/Subcontractor(s) are responsible to schedule all required State inspections in a timely manner as to not hold up the project schedule. Bonding Requirements: Bids shall be accompanied by a Bid Guarantee in the amount of : Twenty Percent (20%) of the Base Bid Amount (section C-200 Article 8). The Contractor to whom the contract is awarded will be required to post performance and payment bonds in the amount of One- | Hundred Percent (100%) of the contract price. Bonds shall be executed on Engineer's Joint Contract Documents Committee format (EJCDC No. C-610, EJDC No. C-615 or on comparable format which is approved in advance by the Quonset Development Corporation). The bonds shall be issued by a company that is acceptable to the Quonset Development Corporation. A minimum requirement for acceptability shall be that the Surety Company is currently listed on U.S. Department of the Treasury Circular #570 as holding Certificates of Authority as Acceptable Sureties on Federal Bonds and as holding a Surety License in the State of Rhode Island.
