The major elements associated with the construction of the project are approximately: The demolition of the existing 22,500-gallon steel welded stand- pipe. 4,710 square yards of milling asphalt/blotter and gravel base course 2,904 feet of 6-inch water main 70 6-inch gate valves 27 fittings of various sizes and types 80 water main connections 749 feet of 1-inch water service line 75 feet of 2-inch water service line 22 water service connections 35 fire hydrants 1,620 CY of general street excavation 1,933 tons of gravel surfacing or base course 1,169 tons of asphalt surfacing 221 square yards of concrete sidewalks, fillet sections or valley gutters 325 feet of concrete curb and gutter 1,560 square yards of seeding disturbed areas Other items such as traffic control and related items The approximate quantities mentioned above are subject to in- crease or decrease. It will be agreed by bidders that all quantities of work will be performed in accordance with the provisions of the plans and specifications and at the unit price bid. Bidders agree to furnish all labor, material, and equipment necessary to complete all the work as shown in the plans and specifications. Each bid must be accompanied by a certified check or bank draft payable to the order of the Lower Brule Sioux Tribe, South Dakota, in an amount equal to five percent (5%) of the total bid. A bid bond in an amount equal to ten percent (10%) of the total bid will be accepted in lieu of a certified check or bank draft. Surety for bid bond must be authorized to do business in the State of South Dakota. The Owner reserves the right to reject any or all bids and to waive any informalities in the bidding and make awards to the Owners best interest.
