In general, the work to be performed under this contract includes the furnishing of all labor, materials, and equipment for the replacement of one ground level bolted steel backwash tank with a new 250,000 gallon ground level welded steel backwash tank and the installation of four new backwash recycle pumps. All facilities are owned by the Sacramento County Water Agency. The work includes, but is not limited to; removal and disposal of the existing bolted steel backwash tank, concrete footing and engineered fill supporting existing backwash tank, existing ancillary components of backwash tank, existing sewer catch basin, and miscellaneous obsolete equipment; construction of a new concrete ringwall footing for the new backwash tank; installation of new engineered fill within the new ringwall; erection of the new welded steel backwash tank; erection of a temporary rigid containment structure encompassing the exterior of the new backwash tank; surface preparation of the interior and exterior surfaces of the new backwash tank for coatings application; application of both interior and exterior protective coatings; installation of four new backwash recycle pumps and associated piping, a new sewer catch basin, a new tank mixer, a new tank level indicator, a new tank drain flow meter and; installation of all other components in accordance with the project plans and specifications and; compliance with all health, safety, and other applicable federal, state or local regulations whose jurisdiction the facilities are located within. The successful bidder will be required to execute a Material and Labor Payment Bond and Performance Bond, issued by a corporate surety, acceptable to the County of Sacramento, each for not less than one hundred percent (100%) of the contract price. Pursuant to California Public Contract Code Section 22300, the Contractor may, at its own expense, substitute securities for any money being withheld by the County to ensure performance under this Contract. The County of Sacramento encourages the submission of bids and sub-bids by minority-owned and women-owned business enterprises. The Board reserves the right to reject any or all bids, to waive any informality in any bid, and to determine which bid, in the judgment of the Board, is the lowest responsive bid by a responsible bidder.
