The Texas Workforce Commission (TWC) is accepting proposals to furnish all labor, materials, insurance, equipment and supervision required to address various life safety improvements at the TWC Main, Annex and Trinity buildings in Austin, Texas. Any and all questions, substitution requests, clarifications, etc. must be submitted in writing to Fred Warner (see address above) on or before July 7, 2020 @ 2:00 PM. A Bid Bond must be submitted for each and all bids over $25,000.00 in the amount of 5% of the total amount of the contract being bid, including alternates. In addition, Contractor must tender to TWC, before a Purchase Order is issued, Payment and Performance Bonds in accordance with Texas Government Code Chapter 2253 as required below, in form and substance satisfactory to TWC. A Payment Bond is required for a contract in excess of $25,000.00, including any selected alternates. The Payment Bond shall be executed in the amount of the Contract Sum, and is payable to TWC solely for the protection and use of payment bond beneficiaries who have a direct contractual relationship with Contractor or Subcontractors of all claimants supplying labor and material. A Performance Bond is required if the contract reaches or exceeds $100,000 (Both a Performance Bond and a Payment Bond will be required on contracts of $100,000.00 and over). Performance Bonds must be in the amount of the total awarded contract including any selected alternate pricing amounts. The Performance Bond is for the protection of TWC. The contract will begin on date of Notice to Proceed, or upon date of award, and end 75 calendar days following the Notice to Proceed date at 6:00 P.M. Liquidated damages have been determined as $640.00 per day.
