Contract 1 and Contract 2. Principal items of work include: Contract 1: Installation of Static screen and membrane batch reactor, removal of existing treatment equipment and retrofitting of new aeration equipment, chopper pumps, and control panels, rehabilitation of a dual-media sand filtration system, and all related appurtenances and Contract 2: Approximately 350 septic tanks with effluent pumps, 95,500 linear feet of 2" PVC force main, 11,000 linear feet of 3" PVC force main, 7,500 linear feet of 4" PVC force main; and all related appurtenances. Each bidder must be licensed as a Contractor in the State of Alabama in accordance with provisions of Chapter 8 of Title 34 of the Code of Alabama, 1985, and must submit with this bid satisfactory evidence of such license. All bids shall be submitted in the Contract Specifications Book as issued by the Engineer. All bids shall be submitted in a sealed envelope bearing on the outside the name of the Bidder, Bidder's license number, license expiration date, category, address and name of the project. Section 746 of Title VII of the Consolidated Appropriations Act of 2017 (Division A - Agriculture, Rural Development, Food and Drug Administration, and Related Agencies Appropriations Act, 2017) and subsequent statutes mandating domestic preference applies an American Iron and Steel requirement to this project. All listed iron and steel products used in this project must be produced in the United States. The term "iron and steel products" means the following products made primarily of iron or steel: lined or unlined pipes and fittings, manhole covers and other municipal castings, hydrants, tanks, flanges, pipe clamps and restraints, valves, structural steel, reinforced precast concrete, and construction materials.
