In general, the project consists of the demolition of portions of the existing roadway and Arroyo Grande High School parking lot, construction of public improvements within a new right-of-way to realign Castillo Del Mar to a new connection point with Valley Road. The work includes the construction of a new 40' wide street section, with a 12.5' wide multiuse HMA path on the northern side, separated by curb and gutter. Drainage for the project includes three (3) headwalls and associated culverts and drainage inlets, as well as low impact development design including vegetated swales and biofiltration planter. Landscaping includes the biofiltration planter, vegetated swales, and street trees. Utilities include removing existing and installing new water main and connections, and electrical to serve the street lights. Other items are striping and installation of solar-powered rectangular rapid flashing beacons (RRFBs). Bid Alternatives include an increase of street section HMA depth, street trees and related irrigation, High School Parking Lot striping, parking bumpers, and Street Lights. Contractors must possess a valid Class A or C8 Contractor's License at the time of the bid issuance. Contractors must have experience constructing projects similar to the work specified for this project. The project estimated construction cost, including bid alternates, is $935,000.
