The project consists of Improvements to Block Stadium including new training rooms, batting cages and bullpens, as well as paving and fencing at 1691 E. 144th Street, East Chicago, IN 46312. A certified or cashiers check payable to the City of East Chicago or a bid bond in an amount equal to ten (10) percent of the bid amount must accompany each bid. All checks (or bonds) of unsuccessful bidders shall be returned to them for a period not to exceed thirty (30) days by the board upon selection of successful bidder. Checks of successful bidder may held for a period not to exceed sixty (60) days. The successful Bidder will be required to provide separate Performance and Labor Material Bonds, each in the amount of one hundred (100%) percent of the Contract amount Liquidated Damages will be assessed at a rate of $500.00 (five hundred dollars) per day for the first seven (7) calendar days starting the first day following the contract completion date and $1,000.00 (one thousand dollars) per day following the eighth day after the contract completion date. The owner reserves the right to accept or reject any or all bids or to waive any informalities in the bidding, should the Board deem it to be in the public interest to do so.
