Site work and paving for a mixed-use development in East Chicago, Indiana. Completed plans call for site work for a sidewalk / parking lot; for paving for a sidewalk / parking lot; and water / sewer project.

The Project consists of reconstruction of roadway pavement, replacement of sewers and water main, and new concrete curbs and sidewalks. DESCRIPTION OF WORK: The work consists of reconstruction of asphalt parking lot at East Chicago's Police Station with curbs, adjust drainage structures, resurfacing the existing Police Station Parking lot, curbs, sidewalks and pavement striping. Bids shall be properly and completely executed on bid forms contained in the Contract Documents obtainable as stated above. No bidder may withdraw his proposal within a period of 60 days following the date set for receiving bids. The City of East Chicago reserves the right to retain any and all bids for a period of not more than 60 days, and said bids shall remain in full force and effective during said time. The City reserves the right to waive informalities, and to award the contract to any Bidder, all to the advantage of the City of East Chicago, or to reject all bids. CONSTRUCTION START AND COMPLETION: The work shall begin immediately upon Notice to Proceed during the spring of 2022 and shall be substantially completed by August 15, 2022 for final payment by September 30, 2022. BID SECURITY: Each bid shall be accompanied by an acceptable certified check or cashier's check made payable to the City of East Chicago or an acceptable bid bond in an amount equal to 5 percent of the total bid price executed by an incorporated surety company in good standing and qualified to do business in the State of Indiana. BONDS: A performance bond and payment bond each in the amount of 100% of the contract price will be required. INDIANA REQUIREMENTS: Standard Form 96 which includes non-collusion affidavit. Each bidder must ensure that all employees and applicants for employment are not discriminated against because of their race, creed, color, sex, or national origin and each bidder must conform with the anti-discrimination provisions of IC 5-16-6.
