The scope of work includes the replacement of two (2) existing 80 bhp, oil fired fire tube hot water boilers, flues, housekeeping pads, air dirt separator, chemical shot feeder, and expansion tank, and all associated equipment. work includes replacement of all heating water piping, hangers, supports, and insulations with the exception of secondary pump trim and discharge piping and oil piping on discharge side of existing transfer pumps. the existing boiler room has a 2-hour rated plaster ceiling which shall be patched and repaired to maintain its integrity to match existing. remove and replace all existing associated heating plant controls with electric/electronic actuation, direct digitally controlled by Johnson controls - sole source. relocate existing exterior dry bulb sensor and weather station to accommodate boiler flues. The existing boiler room is protected by a wet pipe sprinkler system. Modify and replace piping and sprinkler heads to accommodate new work includes the addition of two (2) inline 200 GPM primary pumps each associated with respective boilers. existing end suction secondary pumps shall remain. Boilers shall be the high efficiency cast iron oil boiler, 88% combustion efficiency. boiler flues shall be constructed of al29 stainless steel. Work shall include all associated electrical work including carbon monoxide sensors interlocked with the existing fire alarm system and manual safety shut down switches at each door. As of February 16, 2026, the project has received State approval. The contract award is expected on or around February 26, 2026. Additional information regarding the construction schedule and anticipated completion date has not yet been released.
