The work consists generally of replacement of six existing screw pumps with three submersible pumps, pump controls, and discharge piping and valves. Also included will be the provision, installation, operation and maintenance of a temporary bypass pump system capable of handling flows up to 15 MGD, the removal and disposal of the six existing screw pumps, all necessary structural demolition, modification and reinforcement of the existing concrete wet well structure to facilitate the installation of these new submersible pumps, electrical work, site restoration and all other necessary and appurtenant work required to complete the work as described in these specifications and detailed in the drawings. A certified check or bank draft, payable to the City of Millington, or a satisfactory Bid Bond executed by the Bidder and an acceptable surety, in an amount equal to five percent (5%) of the total of Bid, shall be submitted with each Bid. Any Bidder, upon written request, will be given permission to withdraw his Proposal not later than the time set for opening. Bids accepted and read will remain effective for a period of sixty (60) days after the date and time set for the opening of such bid.
