Site preparation and construction of a gravel roadway (trail) including tree clearing, site demolition, grading, storm drainage culverts, erosion control, gravel paving and lawn grassing. Bids will be received for Single Prime General Contract . All proposals shall be lump sum. Contractors are reminded that the Bid Documents are copyrighted material and shall not be copied by any party other than Timmons Group. Contractors shall not place the documents on file at reprographic shops or on display at Construction Trade Associations. All contractors are hereby notified that they must have proper license as required under the state laws governing their respective trades. General contractors are notified that Chapter 87, Article 1, General Statutes of North Carolina, will be observed in receiving and awarding general contracts. General contractors submitting bids on this project must have license classification for Grading & Excavating, or Building Contractor (with subcontractor holding a license with the classification of Grading & Excavating) as required by the NC General Contractors Licensing Board under G.S. 87-1 The pre-bid meeting is not mandatory. A Bid Bond will be required. A Performance Bond and a Payment Bond will be required by the successful bidder prior to execution of the contract for one hundred percent (100%) of the contract price. Payment will be made based on ninety-five percent (95%) of monthly estimates and final payment made upon completion and acceptance of work. No bid may be withdrawn after the scheduled closing time for the receipt of bids for a period of 30 days. The owner reserves the right to reject any or all bids and to waive informalities.
