This is a service / maintenance or supply contract in East Fayetteville, North Carolina. Contact the soliciting agency for additional information.

ICP Mass Spectrophotometer The ICP-MS (Inductively Coupled Plasma Mass Spectrometry) is capable of meeting detection levels for water and wastewater metal analysis, and it can simultaneously analyze multiple elements, offering significant advantages over the PWC Graphite Furnace atomic absorption. The current method cannot meet the new detection levels for heavy metals like Arsenic, Selenium, and Molybdenum, leading to the need for outsourcing these analyses. Additionally, the PWC Graphite Furnace frequently requires major repairs, causing delays, and is being phased out by the industry. In contrast, ICP-MS not only meets the required detection levels and analyzes multiple elements rapidly, but it also resolves matrix interferences more effectively in complex discharges. For Lead and Copper analysis, ICP-MS reduces analysis time by eliminating the need for sample spiking. Overall, ICP-MS provides faster turnaround time and reporting, which is critical with the new Lead and Copper rules. Questions regarding this bid must be submitted in writing to the attention of Leticia Gilmore, at procurement@faypwc.com no later than 5:00 p.m., EST Tuesday, July 9, 2024, in order to be considered for a response. In accordance with PWC's MWDBE Program, the goal shall be to award four percent (4%) of the total contract dollars to MBE firms and four percent (4%) to WBE firms. A complete copy of PWC's MWDBE Program is available for inspection at PWC Procurement Department. Fayetteville Public Works Commission reserves the right to reject any or all bids for any reason determined by PWC to be in its best interest, or to award the bid to the lowest responsible bidder or bidders, taking into consideration quality, performance, and the time specified in the bids for the performance of the contract.
