The Algonquin and Lakeshore Catholic District School is seeking proposals from qualified and experienced general contracting firms for the provision of pre-construction services and the installation of classroom vertical unit ventilators in a variety of school locations throughout the Board's jurisdiction. Two (2) separate and distinct contracts will be awarded as a result of this RFP. One (1) construction management service contract will be awarded for the installation of classroom vertical unit ventilators in and around the Belleville Area; and one (1) construction management service contract will be awarded for the installation of classroom vertical unit ventilators in and around the Kingston Area. Proponents will only be eligible to enter into one (1) agreement with Board and consequently, this RFP will result in the awarding of contracts to two separate and distinct companies. The classroom vertical unit ventilators will be supplied by the ALCDSB to the successful proponents who will complete all work, including but not necessarily limited to, demolition, exterior retrofit, electrical wiring, electrical service up grades, etc. required to install the new units. The total overall estimated construction budget for the work covered under this Request for Proposal, including the purchase cost of the classroom vertical unit ventilators by the Board, is approximately $2,000,000. It is anticipated that the work associated with each of the two (2) contracts is $1,000,000. It is anticipated that the construction activities will begin in November 2020 and that all work will be completed no later than January 2, 2021. Delivery of the vertical unit ventilators is currently anticipated to begin on, or about, December 1, 2020.
