As of September 17, 2021, the project has been awarded to KBS Earthworks Inc. for $544,380.23. Consideration will be given only to Contractors who submit evidence that they are properly licensed as required by Chapter 87 of the North Carolina General Statutes to bid and perform the work described herein as the general contractor and must have proper licenses under the state laws governing their respective trades at the time of bid opening. The scope of work includes, but is not limited to, the installation of riprap stabilization and new warning signs at two locations along the Yadkin River, and the installation of rock wall veneer against existing gabions. Other aspects of the project include, but are not limited to, the removal of existing signs, the installation of geobag wall solutions, planting, road repair, fence and gate installation, and riprap placement.
