Renovation and addition to an educational facility in Lloydminster, Alberta. Completed plans call for the renovation of a educational facility; and for the addition of a 28,350-square-foot, two-story above grade educational facility.

1. The facility will consist of an approximate addition area of 2,625m2 and 200m2 of renovation area. 2. The project will include the expansion and renovation of Holy Rosary High School, located in the established neighborhood of Parkview in Lloydminster, AB. Holy Rosary is surrounded by residences in three (3) directions and by street frontage of Ecole St. Thomas school in the fourth direction. The existing multi-story school, utilized for students from Grades 8-12 is approximately 8,740 square meters (94,076 sq. ft.), and was designed for an enrollment of 750 students in the secondary core. 3. The project is expected to start construction in June 2021 with substantial performance in June 30, 2022 with opening and full occupancy by September 1, 2022. 4. The school addition and renovation is expected to be on the current site of the Holy Rosary High School. 5. Anticipated project complexities include: a. Phasing construction around active school(s) that will require any demolition or building preparation for the addition (during/before/after) construction of the school is complete. b. Maintain minimal disruption to occupants of the current active schools during the renovation and addition construction. c. An aggressive design and construction schedule with design packages that includes significant community engagement and must be completed fully by August 31, 2021. d. To ensure the new construction and renovation can be completed on budget, creative ideas for cost effective construction and renovation will be required. e. The school was originally designed to be expandable and has extra capacity within the mechanical and electrical systems that will need to be verified and utilized by the consultants. f. This school project may include several specialized spaces that are not typical. Such as: Biomechanics Lab - a lab space dedicated to the motion capture and breakdown of sports maneuvers such as baseball and golf swings to study the biomechanics of the motion. Small Motors and Metals Lab - The small motors lab will include 6 bays for motorcycles and snowmobiles. The metals lab will include millwrighting, welding, and tooling and be adjacent to the motors lab. STEM and Steam Lab - A technology lab that will focus on the three most important priorities to the Lloydminster area: soil reclamation, energy security and food security. Art and Graphic Arts Studio - The graphics arts studio will be an oversized classroom that can accommodate fine arts as well as incorporate aspects of a gallery including display of art, flexibility to rearrange and a separate securable entrance to host functions. *Structural, Mechanical and Electrical engineers have been added.
