This Request for Proposals (the "RFP") is an invitation by Queen's University ("Queen's") to prospective proponents to submit proposals for Pressure Vessel Design and Fabrication, as further described in Section A of the RFP Particulars (Appendix D) (the "Deliverables"). The pressure vessel makes up part of the PICO 500 experiment. PICO-500 is a dark matter detection experiment using a synthetic quartz vessel and a pressure vessel to search for weakly interacting massive particles (WIMPs). The pressure vessel will be located underground in the Cube Hall at SNOLAB. SNOLAB is an underground science laboratory (CLASS 2000 clean space) located 2 km underground near Sudbury, Ontario, Canada. The general scope of work includes engineering design, fabrication, on-site welding, specified materials, equipment and labor to complete the work.
