**As of 1/13/2021 project was not yet been awarded. No estimated time frame yet. Mountain Metropolitan Transit (MMT) plans to expand and update its transit bus fleet by acquiring electric-powered buses. Initial acquisition is planned for 2021. MMT may also purchase additional diesel-powered buses to expand the transit bus fleet and to replace aging vehicles. Existing MMT operations facilities located at 1075 Transit Drive are over capacity and will not be able to accommodate the additional fleet vehicles. Furthermore, the existing open-air, canopy-covered facilities are neither suitable nor adequate for electric-powered buses. Therefore, MMT desires to build an expansion to the current fixed-route bus operations campus located on Transit Drive near downtown Colorado Springs.
