Site work and paving for a civil project in Colorado Springs, Colorado. Completed plans call for site work for a road / highway; for paving for a road / highway; and water / sewer project.
The Summit County Housing Department ("County") is soliciting bids from qualified contractors to provide services for the replacement of an existing driveway access behind five (5) properties located within incorporated Silverthorne, Colorado, collectively called the Bristlecone Driveway. The scope of this project includes removal of existing asphalt materials, import of road base materials and placement in areas of insufficient subbase, and installation of a new asphalt driveway surface. In addition, a portion of concrete drainage swale will need to be demolished and replaced, and several new concrete pads will need to be poured. The Invitation is for one general contractor to bid and manage the entire project. The overall area of existing driveway is approximately 350 ft in length, 19 to 20 ft in width, with several bump-out parking areas. Placement of Road Base - Portions of the existing asphalt driveway does not have sufficient subbase materials. New subbase / road base materials are to be imported and placed as necessary in all insufficient areas to a minimum 4 inch depth to support the new asphalt surface. Please bid the project for road base to be placed under all areas, and unused/unneeded materials shall not be charged to the County. Installation of new Asphalt Driveway - A new asphalt driveway surface shall be placed. It is estimated that the total new asphalt area is approximately 12,500 square feet +/-. Please provide the contractors' estimate of the new asphalt area to be placed as part of the final bid. Driveway connection pan/swale - A drainage pan/swale will need to be installed at the connection of the driveway to the Town road (W 4th Street). See the attached Town Driveway Construction Detail (Exhibit A) and excerpted Code Standards (Exhibit B). There is an existing driveway connection to W 4th St immediately to the east of the Bristlecone driveway (Twin Seasons Vacations driveway) that has been indicated as a proper example of the required pan/swale. Please bid the pan/swale as both concrete and asphalt installation, with time/schedule impacts. Replacement of concrete drainage swale - A portion of concrete drainage swale in front of 430 Brian Ave and 446 Brian Ave (the Bristlecone Condo) will need to be demolished and replaced. The swale varies between 36 to 42 inches in width; approximately 75 linear feet of concrete swale will need to be demolished, a section of pan relocated, and new concrete formed and poured. Relocate Dumpster - The location of the dumpster will need to be relocated as part of the driveway repaving. The existing concrete dumpster pad will need to be demolished and removed, and a new concrete pad will need to be poured along the northern fence line, with the existing bollards relocated. Construction to be performed on a continuous daily basis beginning any time on or after September 2, 2025, to be completed prior to October 31, 2025, as materials and labor are available to the contractor. Service will be performed on a regular daily schedule per the Town of Silverthorne's allowed work hours. Proposed schedule should be included in contractor's written proposal.
