As of 1/26/2021, Project has been cancelled. General - 25%MBE/5% WBE/2% VBE Chima Uwanamodo is the CDB project manager. As meeting chair, Chima identified the project and outlined the meeting. Summary of meeting structure is to outline CDB bidding procedures, review Fair Employment Practices, review Using Agency requirements and mention an upcoming project, review general project description, and respond to questions. Bidder's checklist and Fair Employment Practices Pre-Bid Handout will be included with meeting notes. The primary domestic piping is in a walkable tunnel to substation 2. The University has installed a domestic main to substation 1 to an RPZ. The project removes piping to the RPZ and replaces with new piping to renovated toilet rooms and other water fixtures. The water softeners, brine maker, and booster pump in substation #1 will be removed. Piping distributed in the tunnel in both directions extend up through risers to fixtures. Water heaters in the boiler room, substation #1, and substation #2 will be connected to new cold water and new domestic hot water piping. Plumbing fixtures will be replaced. Water closets and urinals will include battery valves with turbine re-energization. Ventilation work includes updating the toilet exhaust system. Fire protection work scope is related to removed and replaced ceilings. A/E recommends visiting the mechanical rooms onsite. There is a lot of plumbing routing above ductwork. Bids should anticipate some challenging access in these spaces. Support electrical work will remove and replace light fixtures, power feeds, and fire alarm.
