**As of April 20, 2022 the project has not been awarded. A timeline for the award is not yet established.** This project will provide a new operational and maintenance headquarters for the NYC Department of Parks and Recreation (DPR) at Orchard Beach in Pelham Bay Park. Replacing the existing facility, which was housed in the southern wing of the Orchard Beach Bathhouse and was heavily damaged during Hurricane Sandy, the new headquarters will better serve the Park by facilitating DPR's operations, separating maintenance vehicles from beachgoers, and serving as a preparedness, communications, and operations center for DPR's emergency response in the Bronx. The facility is for DPR use only and will not be open to the public. The project will include construction of a new facility on a site above the design flood elevation, including a ~9,000 SF building, ~33,000 SF maintenance yard, and a fueling station, as well as ancillary access and service roads. The building will accommodate administrative and operational functions including offices, multipurpose room, maintenance shop, and equipment storage, as well as support functions including locker rooms, restrooms, and break room. The yard will accommodate circulation and parking for operations and staff vehicles, electric vehicle charging stations, a vehicle wash station, and a maintenance area with covered storage. The fueling station will be visible from the building and located outside but adjacent to the maintenance yard.
