Renovation of an educational facility in Oxford, Ohio. Working plans call for the renovation of a educational facility.

* This project has been cancelled and wil likely be reissued at a later date. Miami University is seeking to replace old and/or nonfunctioning lighting systems for certain Greenhouse Rooms on our Oxford, Ohio Campus. The Greenhouse Management requests purchasing approximately 20 lighting fixtures for two Greenhouse rooms measuring 36' x 21' (L x W). For the purposes of this request, the terms lights, fixtures, system, and similar descriptors have been used throughout this document and shall be considered interchangeable in meaning and are meant to include the entirety of each lighting fixture along with its lightbulbs/lighting tubes, mounting hardware, controllers, and any other commonly-included electrical connectors and/or hardware for each fixture. The intent of the University is to award one contract to a single vendor. It is strongly recommended that all initial bids be submitted with the understanding that the intent is one [1] supplier award. These are informal bids and will not be read at a public opening. For the purpose of this document, the terms "bid" and "proposal" are interchangeable, the terms "University" and "Miami" are interchangeable, and the terms, vendor, supplier, provider, contractor, operator and similar descriptors have been used throughout this document and shall be considered interchangeable in meaning. Proposals must be clear and concise. Proposals that are difficult to follow or that do not conform to the RFP format may be rejected. Responding vendors must include the required information called for in this RFP. Miami also reserves the right to change the evaluation criteria or any other provision in this RFP by posting notice of the change(s) in the form of an addendum. The University desires to enter into a contract with the successful vendor(s) effective February 1, 2021 with the delivery and installation to be completed by March 1, 2021. The length of such contract(s) shall be period of time in which to delivery and set-up of the lighting equipment in total. The total length of the successive contracts (not including vendor and manufacturer warranties) shall not exceed sixty (60) days. If the University and the vendor are unable to negotiate and sign a contract by February 1, 2021, then University reserves the right to seek an alternative vendor(s). Miami has the right to inspect the Goods on or after the delivery date. Miami, at its sole option, may inspect all or a sample of the Goods, and may reject all or any portion of the Goods if it determines the Goods are nonconforming or defective. If Miami rejects any portion of the Goods, Miami has the right, effective upon written notice to Company, to: (i) rescind the Purchase Agreement in its entirety; or (ii) reject the Goods and require replacement of the rejected Goods. If Miami requires replacement of the Goods, Company shall, at its expense, promptly replace the nonconforming Goods and pay for all related expenses, including, but not limited to, transportation charges for the return of the defective goods and the delivery of replacement Goods. Any inspection or other action by Miami under this Section 2.3 shall not reduce or otherwise affect Company's obligations under this Agreement, and Miami shall have the right to conduct further inspections after Company has carried out its remedial actions. The University reserves the right to waive technicalities or irregularities, to accept any portion of a response when responses are by items, to reject any or all responses, and to make decisions for the best interest of the University.
