Site work and paving for a mixed-use development in Rancho Mirage, California. Completed plans call for site work for a playground / park / athletic field; sidewalk / parking lot; and for paving for a sidewalk / parking lot.
PROPOSAL GUARANTEE (BID BOND) Proposals must be accompanied by a proposal guarantee consisting of a certified check or bid bond payable to the CITY in the amount of ten percent (10%) of the total amount bid. Any proposal not accompanied by such a guarantee will not be considered. If a bidder to whom a contract is awarded fails or refuses to execute the contract documents or furnish the required insurance policies and bonds as set forth in those documents, the proposal guarantee shall be forfeited to the CITY. The proposal guarantees of all bidders will be held until the successful bidder has properly executed all contract documents. If specified in Schedule A, in lieu of payment and performance bonds, CONTRACTOR may furnish CITY either cash, a Letter of Credit, or an Agreement of Deposit as security for performance. Said security shall be in an amount not less than 100% of the cost estimate and, in addition, for payment of those furnishing materials, labor or equipment in an amount not less than 100% of the cost estimate. Said security agreements shall be on forms furnished by CITY. No alterations or substitution of said forms shall be allowed. The obligations of CONTRACTOR shall not be limited by the amount of the security required. No interest shall be paid CONTRACTOR on any cash deposit made pursuant to this paragraph. Written comments and questions shall be submitted to Charles Nesbit, by email at charlesn@ranchomirageca.gov, or by U.S. mail, by no later than 5:00 P.M. on WEDNESDAY, MARCH 23, 2022. When submitted by mail, to City of Rancho Mirage, ATT: Charles Nesbit, 69825 Highway 111, Rancho Mirage, CA 92270. The CITY reserves the right to reject any or all bids, to waive any irregularity, to accept any bid or portion thereof, and to take all bids under advisement for a period of sixty (60) days. At the time of contract award, the prime contractor shall possess a valid Class A contractor's license and/or a combination of Class C specialty contractor's license(s) sufficient to perform the work. The work to be done consists of furnishing all materials, equipment, tools, labor, and incidentals as required by the Plans, Specifications and Contract Documents for the above-stated project. The general items of work to be done hereunder consist of furnishing all materials, equipment, tools, labor, and incidentals as required by the Plans, Specifications, and Contract Documents for the above-stated project. The general items of work to be done hereunder consist of selective demolition, clearing, and grading of the existing site, including the removal of selected trees and some sections of concrete pathways in the existing park, and the removal of curb and gutter on Frank Sinatra Drive in preparation of site improvements and selective street improvements. Improvements include the construction of new concrete pathways, a parking lot w/ ac paving and striping, signage, a monument sign, art plinth, CMU columns, curbs, deceleration turning lane, swales, and drains with drywells, new landscape, and modifications and expansion of the existing park's irrigation system. Irrigation scope includes upgrading the existing parks controller and conversion to a two-wire system as identified in the irrigation drawings. Other work to be contained within the existing park site include the addition of flag poles, the relocation of valves indicated on the plans, and the addition and replacement of concrete paving. In addition, selected trees are to be salvaged and relocated onsite.
