As of January 27, 2022, a consultant to provide commissioning service has been awarded. *The closed solicitation has been included below for reference: The method of contractor selection has not been determined at this time. The CxA will be expected to begin work immediately upon the execution of a contract. This is a fast paced project, and time is of the essence. Design documents and bidding are anticipated to be completed within the next few months. Construction will begin in June 2021, with occupancy in August 2022. The Commissioning Agent (CxA) will be responsible for providing comprehensive services required to meet the State of Connecticut High Performance Building Standards per General Statute 16a-38k as it applies to the work listed above. Work will include, but is not limited to any necessary review of documents, attendance at meetings, and preparation of reports as needed. Please note that the only portion of the school required to meet State of Connecticut High Performance Building Standards is the addition constructed as part of this project. No commissioning is required within the existing Ellsworth Avenue School. Please note that any deviation from the schedule due to constructability, any State reviews/approvals for all departments, City departments, and/or Architectural/Engineering design should be comprehensive and part of the proposed lump sum fee. All postage, shipping, progress photos, reproduction/printing, mileage, and other direct/reimbursable costs are to be included in the proposed lump sum fee. All bonds/insurance costs shall be included in the bidders lump sum proposal.
