Per the owner, as of January 13, 2022, this solicitation has been awarded. The owner states that the project began on August 2, 2021.* Closed solicitation has been included below for reference. ................ The Urban Orchard Project (Project) at ultimate vision is a 30-acre multi-benefit park and green infrastructure project along the Los Angeles River within the City of South Gate (City). The City will be implementing the Project in three phases. Phase 1, which is the subject of this RFP, will be constructed on a 7-acre parcel that is city-owned, and located at 9475 W. Frontage Road. It includes construction in the Bandini Channel that is owned and maintained by the Los Angeles County Flood Control District. Phase 2 encompasses an 11-acre site that is a utility corridor, owned by the Metropolitan Water District, Los Angeles Department of Water and Power and Los Angeles County Flood Control District. Phase 3 is comprised of a 12-acre site located at the confluence point of the Los Angeles River and the Rio Hondo Channel. The scope of work requested by this RFP is for Phase 1 construction. Phase 2 and Phase 3 are not a part of this RFP. Under Phase I, the Project will transform the vacant lot into a multi-benefit park that will feature green infrastructure and recreational facilities. Project improvements for which services are sought include but are not limited to the following: Site clearing and grubbing Rough and final grading Utility construction inclusive of water, sewer, storm drain, electrical, drainage, and irrigation Orchard with community relevant tree species Storm water harvesting reservoir, associated equipment and instrumentation Constructed Wetland Education Garden Multi-use trails Pre-fabricated Education/Office Building, Pre-fabricated Restroom at Entry plaza Landscape and hardscape Decorative gates Parking Lot Miscellaneous amenities such as picnic tables, drinking fountains, dog waste pick-up dispensers, and trash receptacles The intents of this list is to be all inclusive of the improvements reflected on the plans and specifications for the Urban Orchard Project.
