The principal work to be performed under this contract consists of, but not limited to improvement of the following: Furnish and erect two (2) 1,000,000-gallon glass-lined steel, ground potable water storage tank including foundation and mixing equipment. Bids will be received for a single prime Contract. Bids shall be on lump sum basis, as indicated in the Bid Form. The Issuing Office for the Bidding Documents is: B & B Consultants, Inc., 212 East Ferrell Street, South Hill, VA 23970. The contact person is Randy Jones, 434-447-7621, rjones@bandbcons.com. Prospective Bidders may examine the Bidding Documents at the Issuing Office on Mondays through Fridays between the hours of 8:15 am -5:00 pm and may obtain copies of the Bidding Documents from the Issuing Office as described below. Bidding Documents may also be examined at the Mecklenburg County Office, 350 Washington Street, Boydton, VA on Mondays through Fridays between the hours of 9 am-4 pm. The date that the Bidding Documents are transmitted by the Issuing Office will be considered the prospective Bidders date of receipt of the Bidding Documents. Partial sets of Bidding Documents will not be available from the Issuing Office. Neither the County nor Engineer will be responsible for full or partial sets of Bidding Documents, including Addenda if any, obtained from sources other than the Issuing Office. Bid security shall be furnished in accordance with the Instructions for Bidders. A performance bond and payment bond, each in the amount of one hundred (100) percent of the Contract Price, with a corporate surety approved by the Owner, will be required for the faithful performance of the contract. Evidence of proper registration with the Virginia State Registration Board of Contractors, pursuant to Chapter 7 of Title 54 of the Code of Virginia, must be submitted with each bid. The Owner reserves the right to reject any and all proposals received, to negotiate with the low bidder, and/or to re-advertise the project for bids.
