Renovation of a mixed-use development in Bement, Illinois. Completed plans call for the renovation of a educational facility.
Bement CUSD 5 is accepting bids for boiler replacement. The bid must include the removal of the existing boiler, purchase and installation of the new boiler or boiler technologies to provide heat for the PK-12 buildings and the I.T. building. Questions should be submitted by February 12th at 9:00a.m. Questions may be by phone, email or mail. Questions will be answered in writing only. Bid bond is required and must be issued in the amount of 5% of the total estimated costs of the project. A contract performance bond will be required in the amount of 20% of the total estimated contract. The bidder must include the cost of the bond in their bid. Disconnection, removal and replacement of an existing George Otto, commercial-steel, steam boiler with an existing output capacity of roughly 9,000 MBH. Two (2) new, cast-iron sectional boilers with modular burners will be installed and assembled on site to serve the existing school building(s), sized to match the current boiler capacity and reconnected to the existing steam distribution system and controls. A new condensate receiver and boiler circulation pump(s) will also be included for the new system. New boiler flues will reconnect to the existing boiler flue/stack along with modification and reuse of the existing combustion air intake louver.
