Demolition, site work and new construction of an elderly care / assisted living facility in Grenfell, Saskatchewan. Completed plans call for the demolition of a elderly care / assisted living facility; for the construction of a 33,906-square-foot, one-story above grade, 33-bed elderly care / assisted living facility; and for site work for a elderly care / assisted living facility.

The Project seeks to provide long-stay care for aging residents in a home-like setting. The Project serves not only the Town of Grenfell but surrounding areas. The current Grenfell Pioneer Home, long term care center (the "Existing LTC"), originally built in 1967 with two subsequent renovations, was closed in 2018. The existing LTC provided essential services such as 33 long-stay care beds, bathing facilities for non-residents, treatment rooms and space for non-resident day programs. The Project has a Design-Build Price Ceiling estimated at $18 million and includes: -Design and construction of the project, estimated to be approx. 3,150 m2, on a greenfield site, with: - 33 long-term care beds including connecting rooms; - Maintenance garage; - Surface parking stalls and landscaping: - Drainage (if required); and - Upgrades to the surrounding road infrastructure for site access: - Traffic accommodation (including any required detours) during construction. The Project will be consistent with these established objectives to: - create and sustain a strong culture of people-centered care and meaningful engagement that fosters the principles of respect, diversity, quality, and safety; - embracing the spirit of respect, dignity, information sharing, participation and collaboration; - create an exceptional long term care experience and support high levels of self-reported experience ratings for residents and their families; - incorporate evidence-based design features that improve the health and welfare of the residents, and are welcoming to all individuals served by the Project; - create a safe and healthy work environment. *Design / Build team has been secured; award amount is unreleased for publication. *Site address for the project as well as the placement of the building on the site have yet to be determined.
