Salt Lake City Corporation is soliciting competitive sealed proposals from qualified contractors to provide arboricultural services including tree pruning, removal, planting, emergency service, etc. Salt Lake City Corporation (the "City") is soliciting competitive sealed proposals from qualified contractors to provide arboricultural services including tree pruning, tree and stump removal, tree planting, emergency tree service, "Work Share" service (i.e., City and contractor share in the provision of service), tree inventory work, and recordkeeping in all areas of Salt Lake City. The selected contractor will be required to perform arboricultural services on City-owned or City-managed property, as well as private property. Services will be on an "as needed" basis at the direction of the City's Urban Forestry Division manager, or designee. See the attached Sample Agreement (Attachment 3) for a detailed description of the required services. Salt Lake City's urban forest is much more than a collection of trees. The urban forest directly influences the City's environmental quality, public safety and property values. There are few, if any, human-made or naturally occurring amenities that contribute more to the City's appearance and desirability than its trees. Services provided by the City's Urban Forestry Division include tree pruning, tree and stump removal, tree planting, tree spraying, and emergency response related to tree failures. There are approximately 85,000 street and park trees in the City. Horticulture including planting and removal services and nursery services and orchard and vineyard management or maintenance services and parks management and maintenance services and tree trimming and mulching. Removal services for ornamental plants or bushes or trees including tree and shrub removal services and lop and scatter and chaining and harrow and bullhog. All questions requesting clarification or interpretation of any section or sections of this RFP must be submitted online through the Q & A Board for this solicitation prior to 3:00 PM, Tuesday, February 16, 2021. The City reserves the right to reject any or all proposals received. Furthermore, the City shall have the right to waive any informality or technical defect in proposals received when in the best interest of the City.
