This project included the following major components: replacement of the existing mechanical screens with two new screens, installation of two new screening wash presses, installation of two new vortex grit removal systems in the footprint of the existing aerated grit tanks, construction of a new Grit Pump Room to be located in the portion of the existing aerated grit tank not occupied by the new vortex grit tanks, installation of two flooded-suction grit slurry pumps in the Grit Pump Room, installation of one grit washer and one grit classifier to replace the existing single grit washer, replacement of the existing two conveyor systems with a common conveyor for both screenings and grit, addition of new heating, ventilation and air condition (HVAC) equipment, and addition of new electrical equipment (such as Motor Control Center [MCC], Supervisory Control Center [SCC], instrumentation, and supervisory control data acquisition [SCADA] system modifications, etc.) Associated with the new Equipment. Estimated Value: 3500000 Completion Date: 07/15/2022 No bid will be considered unless accompanied by a certified check equal to 10 percent of the bid or a bid bond in equal amount, payable to the City as guaranty that if the bid is accepted, the bidder will execute and file the proper contract and performance bond within ten days from the date the lowest responsible bidder's bid is accepted. In case the bidder fails to execute such contract and performance bond within the time set by the City, the check or bid bond shall be forfeited to the City as liquidated damages.
