Site work and renovation of a civil project in Acton, California. Completed plans call for site work for a water / sewer project.

As of May 5, 2022, this project has not yet been awarded. A timeline for award has not yet been established. Los Angeles County Public Works is requesting bid submissions for the Fire Camp 11 Life Safety Improvements project. The work consists of, but not limited to: 1) Install new potable water disinfection system; Furnish and install new well, well pump, discharge piping and valves, and potable water piping, including grading; 3) Provide temporary potable water supply; 4) Rehabilitate existing potable water storage tank; 5) Install new electrical equipment and instrumentation for potable water disinfection system and potable water well including new SCADA system with radio communications. Bidders are only allowed to have one (1)representative attend the pre-bid conference and site visit. All attendees will be required to wear a face mask and must practice social distancing protocol at all times during the pre-bid conference and site visitation. In addition, bidders shall bring their own pens to sign the sign-in sheet Trading or bartering on the part of the visitor with inmates is forbidden. Visitors must not give to or receive anything from an inmate without the prior approval of the office in charge. Visitors shall not indulge in familiarity with inmates nor shall they permit any familiarity on the part of inmates toward themselves. No visitor may come upon the grounds of the institution if he/she appears to have been using intoxicants or drugs No tips, gifts or reward of any kind shall be given or promised to any inmate for any reason. No inmate shall ask for or accept a gift or favor from any visitor, nor shall be given a gift or a promise of one. All Bidders for this solicitation are strongly encouraged to register at website.Only those Bidders registered for this solicitation through the DPW website will receive automatic notification when any update to this solicitation is made. County does not have an obligation to notify any Bidders other than through the DPW website automatic notification system. Copies of Project Manual and Drawings of the work to be bid upon can be downloaded for free at the website listed above. The County reserves the right to reject any or all bids or to waive technical errors and discrepancies in bids submitted in the public interest. Bidders are urged to familiarize themselves with BidExpress. The County strongly encourages the participation of Community Business Enterprises on the project. Work to be done under the Contract consists of furnishing all materials, all equipment, and performing the Work required by these Specifications and the Drawings hereinafter, described and necessary, to complete the construction of the Fire Camp 11 Life Safety Improvements Project. 1. INSTALL NEW POTABLE WATER DISINFECTION SYSTEM. 2. FURNISH AND INSTALL NEW WELL, WELL PUMP, DISCHARGE PIPING AND VALVES, AND POTABLE WATER PIPING, INCLUDING GRADING. 3. PROVIDE TEMPORARY POTABLE WATER SUPPLY. 4. REHABILITATE EXISTING POTABLE WATER STORAGE TANK. 5. INSTALL NEW ELECTRICAL EQUIPMENT AND INSTRUMENTATION FOR POTABLE WATER DISINFECTION SYSTEM AND POTABLE WATER WELL, INCLUDING NEW SCADA SYSTEM WITH RADIO COMMUNICATIONS The CONTRACTOR shall drill the well at the location indicated on Exhibit 1. The pilot borehole shall be drilled to an approximate total depth of 100 feet below ground surface (bgs). For bid purposes, the CONTRACTOR will assume a well completion depth of 90 feet bgs. The borehole may be drilled to a greater or lesser depth as assessed by the Engineer or Hydrogeologist upon review of actual conditions encountered. 2. Prior to drilling the pilot borehole, a 24-inch outside diameter (OD) mild steel conductor casing shall be installed within a 30-inch diameter conductor borehole drilled to a total depth of 40 feet. 3. The borehole for the well shall be drilled using one continuous drilling pass. The pass shall be drilled using a 17.5-inch diameter drill bit. Once the drilling and sampling are completed and the Engineer or Hydrogeologist authorizes completion of the well, the CONTRACTOR shall complete the well as shown in Exhibit 2. 4. The general well dimensions and completion depth are as shown in Exhibit 2 in the Appendix of these Specifications and shall be as specified herein. Any of the various depths indicated herein may be increased or decreased by the Engineer or Hydrogeologist, with the Owner's approval, in accordance with formations encountered during drilling. In the event that drilling is authorized or ordered to depths shallower or deeper than specified herein, a corresponding adjustment shall be made to the appropriate bid item cost within the contract
