The scope of work for this project shall consist of 3.5 of cold milling and 3.5 of HMA overlay on E. Main St from Charles Ave to Wallace Ave per the 2012 Michigan Department of Transportation Standard Specifications for Construction and the included provisions and plan documents. Plans and details are in listed in the bid documentation. In addition, the scope of the project includes parking and pedestrian improvements as specified in the attached plans. The contract and work shall be carried out in conformance with the MDOT Standard Specifications for Construction, special provisions included in the contract documentation, and Ordinances of the City of Kalamazoo in effect on the date of invitation for bids. The bidder shall furnish all labor, supervision, supplies, tools, equipment, and other means necessary or proper for performing and completing the work. The bidder shall be responsible for the cleaning up of the job site and shall repair or restore all structures and property that may be damaged or disturbed during performance of the work to the satisfaction of the Public Services Department for the City of Kalamazoo. Drainage structure covers shall be salvaged and reused if in usable condition; otherwise they shall be replaced. Where needed, all traffic control used for such operations as defined by the MMUTCD will be the responsibility of the bidder. After receipt of Notice to Proceed, work shall start no earlier than June 30, 2021 The bidder shall have all work completed by October 1, 2021.
