The scope of work consists of the installation of over 12,000 SQ. FT. of ADA compliant sidewalks and curb ramps, including an upgrade of signage and pavement markings and improved pedestrian railroad crossings. Only ODOT pre-qualified contractors are eligible to submit bids for this project. Pre-Qualification status must be in force at the time of the bid, at the time of award, and through the life of the construction contract. Subcontractors are not subject to the pre-qualification requirement. Bidders are also expected to provide an experience statement indicating their ability to perform the work as required in the contract documents. Bidders must be on the official bidders list of PDG's Planroom in order to submit a bid. The DBE goal for this project is 5%. The Owner and Engineer are not responsible for any errors or omissions in the contract documents or drawings obtained from any planroom other than that listed above. Failure to submit a complete set of documents could result in a bid that is determined to be nonresponsive and rejected by the Owner. A certified check, cashier's check or letter of credit in favor of the Village of Swanton, Ohio in the amount of 10% of the bid. If the contract is awarded, a Contract Bond will be required, which is a 100% payment and performance bond. The Village of Swanton, Ohio reserves the right to reject any and all bids and to waive any irregularity in any bid and to determine the lowest and best bidder. No bidder may withdraw his bid for a period of 60 days after the scheduled closing time for the receipt of bids. The estimate for the cost of construction is $284,000.00 .
