Site work for a water / sewer project in Suffolk, Virginia. Completed plans call for site work for a water / sewer project.
The City is seeking a qualified firm for drainage improvements in downtown Suffolk. Only VDOT pre-qualified contractors will be accepted. If said work is not fully completed within 370 calendar days as stated in the Notice to Proceed, the Contractor shall be liable and hereby agrees to pay to the Owner as liquidated damages, and not as a penalty, the amount in accordance with VDOT Road and Bridge Specifications 108.06(b) per calendar day for each and every part of a day thereafter that said work remains incomplete. The City reserves the right, at its sole discretion, to deduct liquidated damages from any outstanding amount due the Contractor. All bids shall be accompanied by a Bid Bond, certified check, or other acceptable security. The amount of the bid security shall be equal to five percent (5%) of the total bid amount. The City reserves the right to reject any and all bids, and to waive any informality if it is determined to be in the best interest of the City.
