This is a single prime project (PLA) involving the replacement of plumbing, fixtures and finishes in public toilet rooms, janitor's closets, storage and locker rooms in Voorhees Hall Building (186 Jay Street) at New York City College of Technology in downtown Brooklyn. There is related mechanical, electrical, fire alarm and asbestos work. The base project is for toilet rooms on floors four through eight with three alternates for three additional floors. The building will be occupied while the work is performed. The Dormitory Authority of the State of New York ("DASNY") has determined that its interest in obtaining the best work at the lowest possible price, preventing favoritism, fraud and corruption, and other considerations such as the impact of delay, the possibility of cost savings advantages and any local history of labor unrest are best met by use of a Project Labor Agreement ("PLA") on this Project.
