The work of this single bid project includes fully renovating and building an addition to the existing cafeteria space located on the first floor of the University Hospital Building, a fully occupied facility. Construction work consists in furnishing and installing all materials, equipment and labor including, but is not be limited to, partial interior and exterior demolition of existing servery and dining area, asbestos abatement, structural modifications and addition, concrete floor trenching, mechanical upgrades including new chiller, pumps, roof top cooling tower, exhaust systems, ductwork, building automation controls, electrical, plumbing, fire protection and fire alarm work. General construction includes site civil work, new foundations, new exterior wall enclosures, roofing, doors, glazing, new partitions, new finishes, millwork, food service equipment, fencing, landscaping, etc... The scope includes temporary work and sequencing to maintain Owner's continuous operations in adjacent spaces during construction and requires coordination with the Owner in occupied areas, coordination with work by others, including, but not limited, Owner's IT (data and telephone) system, and other systems.
