As of November 23, 2021, public information indicates this project is under construction. The City of Ithaca (Project Sponsor) invites Contractors to submit sealed bids for the federally funded bridge reconstruction project - Rehabilitation of the South Cayuga Street Bridge over Six Mile Creek. The project includes the following major items of work: Removal and replacement of the existing superstructure with new weathering steel girders and a reinforced concrete deck slab Removal and replacement of existing bridge mounted water and sanitary mains Abutment bridge seat and backwall reconstruction Installation of new elastomeric bridge bearings Minor approach and intersection roadway work Abutment scour repairs A certified check or cashier's check payable to the City of Ithaca or a satisfactory Bid Bond executed by the Bidder and an acceptable surety, in an amount equal to five percent (5%) of the total Bid shall be submitted with each Bid. The Successful Bidder shall be required to furnish and pay for satisfactory Performance and Labor and Material Payment Bonds, each in the amount at least equal to the Contract Amount as security for the faithful performance and payment of all Contractor's obligations under the Contract Documents. The City of Ithaca reserves the right to waive any informality in, or to reject any or all Bids. Bids may be held by the City of Ithaca for a period not to exceed forty-five (45) calendar days from the date of the Bid Opening for the purpose of reviewing the Bids and investigating qualifications of Bidders prior to awarding the Contract.
