Demolition, site work, paving and new construction of a mixed-use development in Ithaca, New York. Completed plans call for the demolition of a bridge / tunnel; for the construction of a bridge / tunnel; for site work for a bridge / tunnel; for paving for a sidewalk / parking lot; and sidewalk / parking lot.

Demolition of the existing bridge superstructure. Partial demolition of existing abutments and pouring new concrete bridge seats. Construction of new bridge superstructure with galvanized steel beams, concrete bridge deck with integral backwall, and Texas-style concrete barrier Installation of a new bridge supported watermain. Coordination of work with NYSEG to replace 2 gas mains carried by the structure. New approach sidewalks and asphalt concrete pavement. The existing bridge will be closed, an offsite detour using local streets will be utilized for traffic during construction until the bridge is re-opened. The Bidding and Contract Documents may be examined at the City of Ithaca electronically. A certified check or cashier's check payable to the City of Ithaca or a satisfactory Bid Bond executed by the Bidder and an acceptable surety, in an amount equal to five percent (5%) of the total Bid shall be submitted with each Bid. The Successful Bidder shall be required to furnish and pay for satisfactory Performance and Labor and Material Payment Bonds, each in the amount at least equal to the Contract Amount as security for the faithful performance and payment of all Contractor's obligations under the Contract Documents. The City of Ithaca reserves the right to waive any informality in or to reject any or all Bids. Bids may be held by the City of Ithaca for a period not to exceed forty-five (45) calendar days from the date of the Bid Opening for the purpose of reviewing the Bids and investigating qualifications of Bidders prior to awarding the Contract. The Disadvantaged Business Enterprise Utilization Goal is 10%. The Equal Employment Opportunity goal for Minority Participation is 1.2% and the Women Participation goal is 6.9%.
