**As of April 22, 2021, the award amount is $1,407,291.50. Installation of approximately 6,950 feet of 20-inch diameter ductile iron transmission water main in public right-of-way and easements as provided on the plans. Water main will be installed along W. O Ave. west of 8th Street to a Consumer's Energy easement. Water main will then cross W. O Ave. and continue south to a water tower that is currently being constructed. Water main will then extend west to 6th Street. Close coordination with other related projects is required (see below for details). No bid may be withdrawn for at least ninety (90) days after bid opening. Work shall start within 10 working days after receipt of notification by Contractor of Notice to Proceed, and final completion shall be September 30, 2021. All Water Main Work (including flushing and testing) under and along W. O Ave. shall be complete before July 1, 2021. The bid must be accompanied by a bid bond which shall not be less than five (5%) percent of the total amount of the bid. No bid will be considered unless it is accompanied by the required guarantee. The bid guarantee shall ensure the execution of the bid and award, and the furnishing of a performance bond and a labor and material bond (A and B below) by the successful bidder. (Contractors Note: A cashier's or certified check in lieu of a bid bond is NOT acceptable.) A performance bond shall be furnished in the full amount of the contract ensuring the City of faithful performance of all the provisions of the contract, and the satisfactory performance of any equipment required hereunder. The bond shall also ensure the City against defective workmanship and/or materials.
