Demolition, site work, renovation and addition to a municipal facility in Newton, Iowa. Completed plans call for the renovation of a 11,100-square-foot municipal facility; for the addition of a 4,100-square-foot municipal facility; for the demolition of a municipal facility; and for site work for a municipal facility.

The general scope of Work includes, but is not limited to; renovations of approximately 11,100 square feet of existing office building plus 4,100 square foot building addition. Scope includes site modifications, structural modifications, finish upgrades, major mechanical, electrical and plumbing upgrades. The project also includes coordination with Owner's contractors for furnishings, audio visual and others. The Owner's intent is to hold a contract with a single General Contractor. Bids shall be on a stipulated sum basis; segregated bids will not be accepted. Subcontractors for major trades shall be named by the General Contractors on the official bid form. Bidders are requested to propose dates for project mobilization and project completion on their bid. A certified check drawn upon a solvent bank or bid bond executed by corporations authorized to contract as surety in lowa, and submitted on AIA Document A310 - Bid Bond, in the amount of five percent (5%) of the total bid and made payable to "JASPER COUNTY", shall be filed with each bidder's proposal as a guarantee that the accepted bidder shall enter into a contract with the Jasper County and file an approved surety company Performance and Payment Bond for the faithful performance thereof. Upon failure to comply, said check or bid bond shall become forfeited as liquidated damages. Under Chapter 91C of the lowa Code (1989), any construction contractor performing work in lowa (including out-of-state contractors) is required to be registered with the lowa Department of Employment Services Division of Labor. All proposals shall be filed on forms furnished, sealed, and plainly marked as described in the Instructions to Bidders. Jasper County reserves the right to reject any or all bids and to accept the proposal which appears to be in the best interest of Jasper County.
