PUBLIC NOTICE - - - Plaquemines Parish School Board Advertisement for Bids Sealed bids will be received by the PLAQUEMINES PARISH SCHOOL BOARD until 10:00 a.m. local time on Thursday March 25, 2021, at the School Board Office located at 1484 Woodland Highway, Belle Chasse, Louisiana 70037, at which time bids for the Belle Chasse Middle School -- Door and Hardware Replacement will be opened and publicly read aloud. The Contract Documents have been prepared by Holly and Smith Architect, 2302 Magazine Street, New Orleans LA 70130, Contact: Wil Finley. Bids received after the above time will not be accepted. Any person requiring special accommodations shall notify the Plaquemines Parish School Board, 1484 Woodland Highway, Belle Chasse, LA 70037, (504) 595-6305, of the types of accommodations required not less than seven (7) days before the bid opening. Bids shall be submitted in a sealed opaque envelope containing only one bid form. The bid envelope shall be identified on the outside with the name of the project, and the name, address, and Louisiana contractor's license number of the Bidder. Bidders may choose to submit their bid electronically. Bids submitted electronically shall be through Central Bidding at www.centralauctionhouse.com. The Plaquemines Parish School Board requires the Bidder to attach a certified check, cashier's check, or bid bond, issued in favor of the Plaquemines Parish School Board, equal to five percent (5%) of the sum of the Base Bid and all Alternates as an evidence of good faith of the Bidder. If a bid bond is used, it shall be written by a surety or insurance company currently on the U.S. Department of the Treasury Financial Management Service list of approved bonding companies which is published annually in the Federal Register, or by a Louisiana domiciled insurance company with at least an A- rating in the latest printing of the A.M. Best's Key Rating Guide to write individual bonds up to ten percent of policyholders' surplus as shown in the A.M. Best's Key Rating Guide or by an insurance company in good standing licensed to write bid bonds which is either domiciled in Louisiana or owned by Louisiana residents. Bids shall be accepted from Contractors who are licensed under LA. R.S. 37:2150-2163 for the classification of the Work specified herein. Bidder is required to comply with provisions and requirements of LA R.S.38:2212 (A)(1)(c). No bid may be withdrawn for a period of forty-five (45) days after receipt of bids, except under the provisions of LA. R.S. 38:2214. The Owner reserves the right to reject any and all bids for cause.
