Site work and paving for a mixed-use development in Herndon, Virginia. Completed plans call for site work for a road / highway; for paving for a road / highway; sidewalk / parking lot; sidewalk / parking lot; and water / sewer project.

The work shall include the following: Reconstruction and realignment of the existing intersection to incorporate additional turn lanes as well as a new, fully operational traffic signal which is to be furnished and installed in conjunction with improvements to the existing storm drainage system and pedestrian facilities located along Center Street and Elden Street. This is a lump sum contract. Contract length is 228 calendar days to date of Substantial Completion. All questions concerning the project shall be submitted in writing to the Senior Civil Engineer of Public Works. This office is the only point where information will be disseminated. All questions must be submitted no later than 5:00 p.m. on Friday, April 02, 2021. Bid Security must accompany each proposal in accordance with Instruction to Bidders. Bids shall be binding for sixty (60) days. Each bid must be accompanied by (1) a certified check of the Bidder made payable to the Town of Herndon or (2) a bidder's bond on the Bid Bond Form provided herein. The amount of the bid security will be 5% of the amount of the bid. The Successful Bidder, upon his failure or refusal to execute the Contract within fifteen (15) days after he has received notice of the acceptance of his bid, shall forfeit to the Owner the security deposited with his bid, as liquidated damages for such failure or refusal. The Town of Herndon reserves the right to reject any and all bids, to waive informalities and irregularities in bidding, and to accept bids which are considered to be in the best interest of the town.
