The City of Texas City is requesting bids for the Lift Station 23 Rehabilitation Project, located in Texas City, Texas. Upgrades and site improvements to the existing Lift Station 23 wastewater pump station located in an easement accessed from Memorial Drive in Texas City, Texas. Base Bid for Lift Station 23 Includes:Demolition of existing two dry pit pumps, Installation of 3 new submersible pumps, installing new slide rails for each pump, replacing the pump station discharge piping, install new control panel and accessories, wall liner, and other related work as indicated on the drawings and the Bid Form. The three pumps, the control panel, and other related accessories have been pre-purchased by the City of Texas City in order to expedite the schedule of the project. Included as an appendix to the contract documents is information on the scope of items that have been pre-purchased. It is the sole responsibility of the bidder to ensure that his bid is actually in the Purchasing office prior to the expiration of the time and date above first written.Bid security in the amount of five (5) percent of the greatest amount bid must accompany each bid.It shall be each bidder's sole responsibility to inspect the site of the work and to inform himself regarding all local conditions under which the work is to be done. It shall be understood and agreed that all such factors have been thoroughly investigated and considered in the preparation of the bid submitted. The successful bidder will be required to furnish a performance bond and payment bond in an amount of 100% of the total contract price. The Contractor and all Subcontractors for this project will be required to pay not less than the prevailing wage rates for the area of the project as required in the contract documents. Upon consideration of the proposals the City Commission plans to award a Contract; however the Owner reserves the right to reject any and all bids, to waive any and all formalities and technicalities, and to accept any bid which it deems advantageous to the owner. Each bidder agrees to waive any claim it has or may have against the Owner, the Engineer, and their respective employees, arising out of or in connection with the administration, evaluation or recommendation of any bid.
