Mechanical and Electrical work to include replacement of existing Chiller and boiler for Aycock Hall Building including all corresponding hydronic and controls modifications for both systems. Deduct Alternate #1: The Contractor shall include in their bid the differential price of providing (2) 500 MBH boilers (base bid) and (1) 1000 MBH boiler, including the associated controls, electrical connections, installation, piping accessories, concrete pad, boiler flue, gas connection, etc. Deduct Alternate #2: The Contractor shall include in their bid the price to not pressure test the existing CWS/CWR piping between the Aycock service drive and the basement. A pressure test was performed in February 2021 for the entire portion of the underground existing CWS/CWR pipes. The pipes did not hold pressure, and it was concluded that the pipes were leaking underground. This deduct alternate would remove the additional testing to potentially reuse the western section of underground pipe (if this section passes pressure test) prior to any installation, trenching, etc. of the new CWS/CWR pipe. The Owner reserves the right to reject any or all bids and to waive technicalities and irregularities. The Owner further reserves the right, in its sole and completediscretion, to reject any bid that is over budget and to reject any bid from a bidder that is not responsible The deadline for Questions is April 29, 2021 by 5pm. and to achieve Material Completion by November 15, 2021. The existing remote air-cooled chiller at Aycock is to be replaced with a new water-cooled chiller. This new chiller is to be located within the basement mechanical room at adjacent Roy Richards Hall next to CH-1, which serves the building itself. The additional chiller will allow both buildings to operate as a single plant, increasing overall efficiency. Modifications at Roy Richards hall include the installation of valves, piping, controls, electrical connections, etc. to connect to new chiller CH-2, and new base-mounted pump P2C. Warranties for all Roy Richards hall equipment are expected to begin at material completion of that project, around June 6, 2021. All warranties in this building must be maintained during installation of new equipment. Chilled water lines to Aycock are extended partially to Aycock. This project intends to complete the connection to the Aycock basement mechanical room. Demolition work here includes the removal of piping, air separator, expansion tank, pump, controls, etc. New work includes new piping, installation of DP sensor, and controls. Some balancing work is required in the Aycock attic.
